The
Bramley Line Heritage Railway Trust in North Cambridgshire has recently
purchased a consignment of 60 foot lengths of bullhead rail, chairs, and
fish plates to extend it’s siding at Waldersea depot near Wisbech.
Having
been advised by one of our members of some old LNER sidings being
lifted, enquiries were made to the main contractor involved in the work
lifting the track.
The
sidings had been out of use for many years, and the contractor was very
helpful in allowing us to purchase this rail and accessories ex site,
sufficient to complete the siding we are currently working on.
Special
transport was arranged through David Watson Transport, from Norfolk,
supplying a 55ft extending trailer to move the consignment to our
Waldersea depot.
The
pictures below show our Waldersea yard manager, Roy Miles, assisting
with the delivery by David Watson Transport driver Ian Carter.
